FAQ - ED & DTV Long-Stay Visa Support
Q : What types of long-term visas can I apply for through The Camp?
A. We support two long-stay visa routes through our Muay Thai training program:
• ED Visa (Education Visa)
• DTV (Destination Thailand Visa)
Important: DTV is a separate visa category and is not exactly the same as ED. We are a school/academy, and our role is to prepare the school-side / enrollment-related documents required for the application process. Final requirements and approval depend on the Thai Embassy / Consulate or Thai Immigration.
Q : What’s the difference between Off-site (Training Only) and On-site (Stay & Train)?
A :
-
Off-site (Training Only): You arrange your own accommodation. Your tuition covers the minimum required attendance (see below).
-
On-site (Stay & Train): Accommodation + daily training are included, designed for people who want to train more than the minimum and stay fully immersed.
Q : Do ED/DTV programs include accommodation automatically?
A : No. Accommodation is included only with the On-site (Stay & Train) plan.
If you choose Off-site (Training Only), you must arrange your own accommodation.
Q : What is the minimum required training attendance for Off-site (Training Only)?
A : Off-site programs include a fixed minimum attendance requirement:
-
6 months: 96 sessions
-
12 months: 192 sessions
This minimum attendance is the basis of the Off-site tuition.
Q : I want to train more than the minimum. Which plan should I choose?
A : Choose On-site (Stay & Train). Training is built into daily life at The Camp:
-
Lite Plan: 2 sessions/day
-
Full Plan: 4 sessions/day
This plan is ideal for people who want to train well beyond the minimum required attendance.
Q : How do I start the ED or DTV process with The Camp?
A.
1. Submit our KYI (Know Your Intent) form
2. Our system will automatically email you the application instructions, required document checklist, and official payment link
3. Complete full payment
4. After payment is confirmed, we prepare the required school-side documents and guide you through the next steps for your visa type
Documents are issued only after full payment. No exceptions.
Q : What documents do you typically need from me?
A :Requirements vary by visa type and your situation, but we typically ask for:
-
Passport copy (validity requirement depends on your case)
-
ID photo
-
Completed application form(s)
-
Signed program contract / enrollment confirmation
After your inquiry, we send the latest checklist based on your visa type.
Q : Can I enter Thailand first and then switch to an ED Visa?
A : Sometimes—this depends on your entry type and current immigration rules. In many cases, ED conversion requires a specific entry visa and/or an in-country process at immigration.
Submit the Visa Inquiry Form and tell us your current visa/entry type—we will advise the realistic route for your case.
Q : What support does The Camp provide during my long-stay visa program?
A : We provide school-side documentation and guidance related to your training-based visa program, including:
-
Official training/enrollment documents required for your visa application
-
Documentation for ED 90-day extensions/renewals (school-side documents only, as required)
Note: 90-day reporting (TM47) must be completed by the visa holder. -
