Why Choose The Camp

Before booking a Muay Thai camp in Chiang Mai, many visitors ask us the same three questions: "Do you have a pool?" "Are meals included?" "Do you offer airport transfers?"

These are fair questions. But they are comfort questions, not training questions. We think there is a better way to compare camps if your goal is to actually improve in Muay Thai during your stay. Here is what we believe matters more.

1. How many training sessions per day?

Most Chiang Mai Muay Thai camps offer 2 group sessions per day. The Camp offers up to 4 with our Full Plan. If you are here for 1 to 3 weeks, more sessions means faster progress — because skill is built through repetition, not through pool time.

2. How many students per trainer?

Most camps run group classes with more than 20 students per session. The Camp runs semi-private training with a maximum of 2 students per trainer. This is closer to private coaching than a standard crowd-based class model — and it is included in the standard Stay & Train price, not charged as an extra.

3. How large is the training facility?

Most camps have 1 to 2 rings and 10 to 15 heavy bags. The Camp has 4 full-size rings and 22 Fairtex heavy bags across 12,000 sq ft of purpose-built training space. You will never wait for a bag or share a ring with 20 other people.

4. Can you work remotely during your stay?

Most camps assume you are on holiday. The Camp includes a dedicated coworking space because many of our guests are remote workers training during extended stays under the DTV visa or ED visa routes.

We made a deliberate choice: invest in training infrastructure and coaching density instead of pools, buffet meals, and daily massages. These choices are why The Camp is not for everyone. If resort-style comfort is your priority, Chiang Mai has excellent alternatives. If your priority is actual Muay Thai development during a focused 1 to 3 week stay, keep reading.

FAQ

Q. Are meals included in the Stay & Train package?

A. Meals are not included in standard Stay & Train packages — this is a deliberate choice. We found that fixed meal plans often do not match each guest's training goals (cutting weight, building muscle, vegan, keto, etc.), so we chose to leave food flexible instead. Our on-site Lean & Green Café sells light, healthy items designed for trainees, and there are many restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. If you book a Detox program, nutrition is provided as part of the Detox cycle: daily detox juices during the fasting phase, followed by recovery meals during the refeed phase.

Q. Can beginners join?

A. Yes. Stay & Train is built around close coaching attention, so coaches can adapt to your level from day one and help you learn correct fundamentals safely.

Q. What room types are available?

A. On-site options include Executive Rooms (private, ensuite) and Dormitories (gender-separated shared rooms). Executive Rooms are the standard private-room option. Dormitories are for adult solo travelers only. Towels are provided. Hair dryers are available in limited quantity on request.

Q. Are there long-stay discounts or visa options?

A. Yes. Weekly and Monthly discounts are built into the booking system and apply automatically when your stay qualifies. Because pricing is dynamic, the only reliable way to see your live total is to enter your dates on our official booking page. We also support ED and DTV routes through our training program. For visa-related applications, our role is to prepare the school-side / enrollment-related documents required for the process. Please see our Visa Support page for the official steps.

Q. If we book a Lite Plan or Full Plan for two people, does training come included for both of us?

A. No. One Stay & Train package includes accommodation and training for one registered guest only. If 2 guests share one private Executive Room, the booking includes 1 Stay & Train package plus 1 second-guest accommodation fee. The included training may be assigned to either ONE of the two registered guests, but not both. If the second guest also wants to train, that training must be arranged and paid separately.

Q. How much does the Stay & Train package cost?

A : Pricing is dynamic and depends on your dates, room type, plan (Lite/Full/Detox), and availability. For the only accurate total price, please use our official booking page (live price & availability).

Q. Can I train without staying on site?

A : Yes. If you don’t need accommodation, use our Training-only booking page

Q. What’s the difference between Lite Plan and Full Plan?

A : Lite Plan includes 2 sessions/day. Full Plan includes 4 sessions/day. Choose Lite for steady progress and recovery; choose Full for intensive training blocks.

Q. Do you provide airport transfers?

A. We do not include airport transfers in our Stay & Train packages. Chiang Mai International Airport is approximately 20 minutes from The Camp by Grab (ride-hailing app), typically costing 150 to 250 THB. We find that guests prefer the flexibility of arriving on their own schedule, and keeping transfers out of the package allows us to keep the core Stay & Train price focused on what actually matters — your training and accommodation. If you need assistance arranging a Grab or private car, our team is happy to help via WhatsApp before your arrival.

Q. How does The Camp compare to other Muay Thai camps in Chiang Mai?

A. Chiang Mai has two types of Stay & Train camps. Resort-style camps focus on all-inclusive comfort — pools, buffet meals, daily massages, airport transfers. Training-focused camps like The Camp invest the same budget into the training experience itself — more sessions per day, lower student-to-trainer ratios, and larger training facilities. Neither approach is wrong. The right choice depends on your goal. If you want a comfortable holiday with some Muay Thai, resort-style camps are a great fit. If you want to actually improve your Muay Thai during a 1 to 3 week focused stay, The Camp is designed for you. For a detailed comparison framework, see our Official Chiang Mai Muay Thai Guide.
