Age groups, parental supervision and participation rules.
The Camp offers Muay Thai training for children. It does not provide childcare or babysitting services.
The gym is an active training environment. Other people are exercising, practising punches and kicks, and using equipment. We take precautions to provide safe instruction, but we cannot eliminate every risk of injury or accident.
Children must attend an age-appropriate class, follow their trainer’s instructions and have the required parental supervision. Please read the following conditions before booking.
Children under six: private lessons only
Children under six may attend private lessons only. They cannot join group classes.
Each lesson is conducted one-to-one with a trainer. A parent or guardian must remain nearby throughout the lesson, continuously supervise the child and be available to assist when needed.
Staff will indicate where you should observe. Please remain outside active training areas and other participants’ practice space.
Having a trainer present does not mean you may leave your child at the gym. If the parent or guardian leaves the designated observation area and is no longer available to supervise, the lesson will be paused.
Both one-to-one instruction and continuous parental supervision are required.
Ages six to twelve: one-hour children’s group classes
Children aged six to twelve may join the children’s group class held in the evening.
These classes last one hour, rather than the 90 minutes used for adult classes. The shorter duration is intended to suit children’s ability to concentrate. Please check the current training schedule for session times.
A parent or guardian must remain in the designated observation area and be available to assist. Children may not be dropped off while their parent or guardian leaves the premises.
Ages thirteen and above: adult group classes
Students aged thirteen and above may join adult group classes.
They must be able to listen to the trainer, follow instructions and comply with the same safety rules as other participants.
Parental or guardian consent is required for minors.
Proof of age is required
Please bring your child’s passport or another government-issued identification document showing their date of birth.
Class eligibility is based on the child’s actual age. Misrepresenting a child’s age to gain admission to a different class is not permitted.
Age requirements are part of our safety and supervision arrangements.
The Camp does not provide childcare
Trainers are responsible for delivering training. We do not provide supervision for children’s play or other activities before or after lessons.
Parents and guardians must supervise their children from arrival until departure. This also applies to accompanying siblings who are not taking part in a lesson.
If you intend to attend another class while your child trains, please discuss this with us before booking. For children under six, taking part in your own training session does not satisfy the requirement for continuous parental supervision.
Children must follow safety instructions
Children do not need to arrive with previous experience or technical ability. They do need to follow instructions that keep themselves and others safe.
The following rules apply throughout the gym:
- Do not run around the gym.
- Do not enter another class or another participant’s training area.
- Do not use equipment without permission.
- Stop immediately when instructed by a trainer.
- Tell the trainer immediately about pain or feeling unwell.
If a child does not follow instructions and we cannot maintain safe conditions, we may pause or end the lesson. The parent or guardian will be expected to assist.
These rules apply even when a child is not participating in a class. Entering an area where adults are practising kicks or using equipment can cause an accident.
Tell us about injuries or health considerations before booking
Please inform us in advance of any injury, medical condition, restriction on exercise or other consideration relevant to your child’s participation.
We are not medical professionals and cannot determine whether training is medically appropriate for your child. If you have concerns, consult your child’s doctor before booking.
We will consider the information you provide and explain what we can reasonably accommodate. We cannot guarantee that every request can be met. If we cannot provide the lesson safely, your child may not be able to participate.
Parental consent and acknowledgement of risk
Beginners do not spar or take part in drills involving an exchange of strikes with another person. However, non-contact training still carries risks, including falls, contact with equipment and injuries during movement.
Before participation, a parent or guardian must review the training arrangements, risks and rules, and sign the consent form. Please also provide a telephone number on which you can be reached in an emergency.
We take precautions to provide safe instruction. Parents and guardians must provide the required supervision, and children must follow their trainers’ instructions. These responsibilities work together; none replaces the others.
Before you book
Please tell us your child’s age and training experience, along with any needs that may affect participation.
Previous athletic ability is not a requirement. The child must be able to listen, follow safety instructions and participate within the class rules. The parent or guardian must be able to meet the supervision requirements.
Please book only if you understand and can comply with these conditions.
